Periyodik Tablodaki Dört Yeni Element İsimlendiriliyor.
Periyodik tablonun 7. periyodunda yer alan yeni elementler ile ilgili çalışmaları değerlendiren IUPAC, 2020 Ocak ayında 113 numaralı elementin varlığının Japonya’daki Riken Enstitüsü’nde; 115, 117 ve 118 numaralı elementlerin varlığının ise Rusya’daki Dubna Nükleer Araştırmalar Enstitüsü ile ABD’deki Lawrence Livermore Ulusal Laboratuvarı’nda yapılan deneylerde kanıtlandığını açıklamıştı. 113, 115, 117 ve 118. elementler, atom numaralarının basamak değerlerini ifade eden sırasıyla ununtrium (Uut), ununpentium (Uup), ununseptium (Uus) ve ununoctium (Uuo) geçici isimleri ile adlandırılmış ve resmi isimlendirme süreci başlamıştı.
IUPAC, evaluating the studies on the new elements in
the 7th period of the periodic table, stated that the presence of element 113
in the Riken Institute in Japan in january; He explained that the existence of
elements 115, 117 and 118 was proven in experiments conducted at the Dubna
Nuclear Research Institute in Russia and the Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory in the USA. Elements 113, 115, 117 and 118 were named with the
tentative names ununtrium (Uut), ununpentium (Uup), ununseptium (Uus) and
ununoctium (Uuo), respectively, expressing the digit values of their atomic
numbers, and the official naming process had begun.
The new elements added to the periodic table are named according to the rules determined by IUPAC by the researchers who prove the existence of these elements. These names can be chosen from mythology or from different categories such as geographic locations, scientists, minerals. After the proposed names and symbols are approved by IUPAC, the new symbols take their place in the periodic table.
Accordingly, the names nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts) and oganesson (Og) are suggested for the 113th, 115th, 117th and 118th elements that were added to the periodic table, respectively. The name nihonium proposed for element 113, the first element discovered in Asia, comes from the Japanese word Nihon, meaning "the place where the sun rises", used for Japan. The moscovium name of the 115th element is attributed to the city of Moscow in Russia, and the tennessine name of the 117th element to the state of Tennessee in the USA. In this way, these regions where important researches have been made for the discoveries of these elements are honored. The name of the 118th element oganesson (Og) is a joint recommendation of researchers from the Nuclear Research Institute in Russia and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the USA. This name, especially in the field of super heavy elements and nuclear physics, who made important contributions to Prof. Dr. It comes from Yuri Ogenessian. If this name is affirmed, for the second time in the periodic table, the name of an element will come from a scientist still alive. The first was element 106 seaborgium, named after Nobel laureate Glenn Seaborg.
