HASSIUM

Hassium is a radioactive element with the symbol" Hs " and atomic number 108. 7 of the periodic table. period and 8. it is a transition element found in its group. It takes its name from the German state of Hesse, where it was first discovered. Hassium is not found in nature. It is an artificial element that can be obtained in laboratory environment... According to its isotopes, there are 12 known isotopes of hassium, all of which are radioactive. None of them are stable. The mass numbers of these isotopes range from 263 to 277. Its most stable isotopes known have half-lives of about ten seconds. One of the super-heavy elements, hassium, is found only in laboratories where it is synthesized. Only 100 atoms have been produced to this day. It is estimated that hassium, which cannot be synthesized in quantities visible to the naked eye, is a silver-colored metal. It is predicted to be a dense solid metal at room temperature and normal pressure. Because it decays in a very short time and cannot be obtained in the amount to be observed, it has no application and use other than laboratory experiments.

It was discovered in 1984 by Peter Armbruster, Gottfried Münzenberg and colleagues from the GSI Helmholtz Heavy Ion Research Center, and Hassium is the fastest decaying element among the elements as far as it can be observed. The Half-Life of their isotopes is very short, they decay very quickly. For this reason, its observable isolation has not been achieved, perhaps it will never be achieved. Hassium has no known biological role on humans, animals and plants. Because of its radioactivity, it is estimated that it may be toxic or carcinogenic. It is assumed that it can also be dangerous to the environment.
