Oganesson (ENG) - Ebal

Oganesson; It is an artificial element with symbol Og and atomic number 118. It is located in the p block of the periodic table and is the last element of the 7th period. Although it is in the 18th group called noble gases, it is the only artificial element in this group and is estimated to be reactive unlike other noble gases. It has the largest atomic number and atomic mass of any discovered elements. Oganesson, a radioactive element, is extremely unstable. Contrary to previous estimates, it is not considered a gas, but a solid or semiconductor (semi-metal) or a weak metal under normal conditions due to relative effects. The element has no confirmed isotope or synthesized compound. First synthesized in 2002 at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia, the element was given the provisional name ununoctium. In December 2015, it was among four new elements recognized by the joint working group of the International Union of Fundamental and Applied Chemistry and the International Union of Fundamental and Applied Physics. It was officially named after Yuri Oganesyan on 28 November 2016. Five (possibly six) atoms of the 294Og isotope have been detected since 2005.

It is not found in nature, it is an artificial element. Only a few atoms have been obtained so far. Today it is produced for research purposes only.
