Strontium chromate is a strontium compound that poses a threat to human health even in small quantities. Strontium chromate is known to cause lung cancer. However, the risk of human exposure to strontium chromium has been greatly reduced by safety measures at companies. People may be exposed to small levels of strontium by breathing air or dust, eating, drinking water, or coming into contact with strontium-containing soil. Strontium is found in cereals, milk, and vegetables. Strontium salts have not been found to cause skin rashes and other skin related problems. High strontium intake can negatively affect bone development. However, this effect is seen if strontium intake is at the level of grams per kg (body weight).The countries that consume the strontium the most in the world are the USA and Japan. The most common use is as strontium carbonate in TV tubes. Since color TV tubes produced in the USA and Japan have a higher voltage, these countries use strontium. The substance that gives the red color to fireworks is strontium. One of the radioactive materials involved in nuclear fallout in the Chernobyl disaster is the radiation-emitting isotope "Strontium-90".
